Spicy Szechuan Stir-Fry

Ingredients
Sauce
- ¼ cup beef broth
- 3 tbsp tamari
- 2 tbsp chili garlic sauce
- 1 tsp agave syrup
- 1 tsp rice vinegar
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger
- ½ tsp Chinese five spice
- ½ tsp cornstarch
Stir-Fry
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 8 oz sirloin steak, thinly sliced
- 1 yellow onion, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 3 cups broccoli florets
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together all of the sauce ingredients. Set it aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Arrange the beef in the skillet and season it with salt and pepper to taste. Cook, stirring occasionally, until it is cooked to your liking, 3 to 5 minutes. Remove the beef from the pan and set it aside.
- Add the onion, red pepper, and broccoli. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the onion begins to soften, about 3 minutes. Pour the sauce into the pan and cook, covered, until the broccoli begins to soften, about 2 minutes. Stir in the beef and green onions.
- Serve immediately topped with the sesame seeds.
