- 1 tsp vegetable oil
- 1 yellow onion, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- ½ cup tomato ketchup
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 4 hamburger buns

Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Add the onion and red bell pepper. Cook, stirring often, until they begin to soften, about 3 minutes. Stir in the garlic and ground beef. Cook the beef, breaking it up with the side of a spoon, until it is no longer pink, about 5 minutes. Stir in the ketchup, mustar, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste. Continue to cook until the sauce reduces slightly, about 3 minutes.
- Serve immediately on the hamburger buns or store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
