- 12 chocolate cupcakes
- 1 cup butter, at room temperature
- 4 cups icing sugar
- ¼ cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- green food coloring
- 1 tbsp rainbow sprinkles
- 12 star sprinkles
- In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the butter until it is light and fluffy. Add the icing sugar, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and green food coloring. Beat until everything is well combined. Transfer the buttercream into a piping bag with a star tip.
- Onto each cupcake, pipe a mounded swirl to form a small Christmas tree. Decorate the icing with the rainbow sprinkles. Top each cupcake with a star sprinkle.
