- 12 chocolate cupcakes
- 1 cup butter, at room temperature
- 4 cups icing sugar
- ¼ cup heavy cream
- black decorating gel
- ¼ cup mini M&Ms
- In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the butter until it is light and fluffy. Add the icing sugar and heavy cream. Beat until everything is well combined. Transfer the buttercream into a piping bag.
- Pipe a mounded swirl onto each cupcake. Using the black decorating gel, add a thin swirl onto each cupcake. Along the black piping gel swirl, arrange the M&Ms to create a Christmas light effect.
